Who aims to misbehave?

Arise you, Browncoats! Your day has finally come! Fox Digital Entertainment and QMx Interactive Inc. have announced that they are working on a new RPG that will take place in the Verse from the show ‘Firefly‘! The companies have said the game, dubbed “Firefly Online” (FFO), will first be available on mobile devices running iOS and Android. Plans have not been made for other platforms, but depending on the success of the mobile games, other options may be available in the future.

In the game, players will be taking on the role of a ship captain, leading their own missions and even hiring their own crew. Much like the show itself, players will be have to do whatever necessary to survive in the Verse. FFO will include a variety of great features and experiences right from the get-go, including:

  • Assume the role of a ship captain – create a crew and customize a ship
  • Aim to misbehave in space and planet-side adventures
  • Cross-platform player experience across devices (pick-up and play from anywhere)
  • Unique social features connecting “Firefly” fans
  • Create a shiny ship and explore the Verse

If any or all of these options sound awesome to you, go ahead and sign up for more info (or even preregister to get the game) over at While you’re at it, make sure to check in with the team of “Firefly Online” on Twitter and Facebook. For now, we know that Firefly Online is currently in development by QMXi and Spark Plug Games, an independent video game studio.  The game is expected to be released some time in the summer of 2014. We will also do our best to keep you updated with how the game is coming along, so stay tuned!
