Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth – Now On Wii U and Xbox 360 Kinect!!

Do you love The Avengers like me? Well if you answered yes you may want to check out the brand new Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth. It’s now Available at retailers across North America. Developed by Ubisoft Quebec the same great people who brought us Assassin Creed you know it’s going to rock and have a lot of attention to detail. You can pick up your copy for the X-box 360 Kinect and or the Nintendo Wii U. Earning an ESRB T for teen rating this game is fun even for a slightly younger audience. I got to get my hands on this game today and I’m pretty excited. Think Dragon Ball Z fighting games in the past mixed with the Marvel heroes you love and the villains you love. to hate.

The game takes place during the ”Secret Invasion.“ This story arc is a comic book crossover story-line that ran through a self-titled eight issue limited series and several tie-in books published by Marvel Comics from April through December 2008. In the comics there was a long-term invasion by the alien race called the Skrulls. These aliens could shapeshift. The Skrulls had secretly replaced many of Marvel’s heroes with impostors over a period of years, prior to their overt invasion. Marvel’s promotional tagline for the event at the time was “Who do you trust?”

Being labeled ”The Ultimate Super Hero brawler”  it stars over twenty Super Heroes and Villains from the Marvel Universe, including all of the Avengers, Spider-Man and Wolverine even make the cut this time.  The Wii U game pad is used in some fun and interesting ways like using Touch Screen to shoot arrows like Hawkeye, strike a debilitating bite as Black Widow, or hurl rocks as the Hulk. Up to four players can team up or compete against each other in co-op, arcade and versus modes and use a combination of the GamePad along with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to activate super attacks, launch devastating powers and dodge their opponent’s moves.

There is a lot of content in this games package. Game play modes such as campaign, arcade, challenges, versus and tournament. I think co-op mode and online are the best features. Here are some of the key features worth mentioning.

•You Use Motion to fight as your Super Hero or Villan: Trigger super attacks with your movements.

• There are a ton of game modes: Co-op, Campaign, Arcade, Challenges, Versus, and Tournament! Wow that’s a lot!

• Tons of bonuses to unlock: As you work your way through the battles, you’ll unlock unique outfits and collector cards.

• There is a pretty robust and yet not overly complex fighting system: Use Super Attacks, Velocity Boost, Breaker, or Frenzy to beat your opponents.

• Eye-Poping Comic Book Styling: Inspired by iconic comic artwork based on the Secret Invasion story-line.
